Surprise Proposal at Kualoa Regional Park | Adam & Alexis

Adam planned a surprise proposal for Alexis at Kualoa Regional Park on Oahu's windward coast, with the dramatic Koʻolau Mountains covered in mist and both of their families waiting nearby to celebrate after she said yes.

The weather that afternoon was classic Kualoa. Low clouds rolled through the mountains, creating a soft backdrop that felt completely different from the bright blue skies Hawaii is often known for. Throughout the proposal, a group of egrets wandered through the park and somehow managed to make their way into many of the photos, adding to the atmosphere of the day.

One of my favorite parts of this proposal wasn't just the moment itself, but what happened immediately afterward. Both families were nearby waiting for the surprise and were able to celebrate with Adam and Alexis right after the proposal. Those reactions and hugs are always some of the most meaningful moments to photograph.

Unlike many proposal locations on Oahu, Kualoa Regional Park offers a variety of backdrops within a short walking distance. Couples can enjoy photos with the mountains, beach, palm trees, and ocean all within the same session.
