There is something special about a simple Hawaii elopement planned entirely by the couple themselves. No massive production, no strict wedding timeline, and no pressure to make the day feel like anything other than what it truly was. Alexis + Brede’s morning elopement at Kualoa Regional Park on Oahu felt personal in all the best ways.

With bright blue skies over the Koʻolau Mountains, strong trade winds moving through the palms, and Chinaman’s Hat sitting perfectly offshore, their wedding morning felt like the definition of an Oahu elopement dream.

They invited around 15 of their closest family members and friends to celebrate with them. My favorite was their daughter, who spent most of the morning running barefoot through the grass and along the beach while everyone laughed and enjoyed the morning together. Those little in between moments always end up being some of our favorite images from small Oahu weddings.

One of the most meaningful parts of the ceremony was that Brede’s best friend officiated the wedding. It made everything feel even more relaxed and genuine. You could tell this was less about putting on a super formal event and more about creating a beautiful memory together in one of the most scenic places on Oahu.

Why Couples Love Kualoa Regional Park for Elopements

As an Kualoa Regional Park wedding photographer, it is easy to understand why so many couples choose this location for their Hawaii elopement or intimate wedding ceremony.

Kualoa Regional Park offers some of the most iconic scenery on Oahu:

  • The Koʻolau mountain range

  • Palm tree lined beaches

  • Views of Mokoliʻi Island (Chinaman’s Hat)

  • Easy beach access for guests

  • Large grassy ceremony areas

  • Incredible morning light for wedding photography

Morning weddings at Kualoa are especially beautiful because the lighting stays bright and crisp while the mountains remain vibrant and green. Alexis + Brede lucked out with classic sunny Oahu weather, which made the turquoise water and deep blue skies really stand out in their photos.

The wind was definitely present throughout the morning, but that is part of what makes East Side Oahu weddings feel so alive. The movement in the dress, hair, palm trees, and ocean adds so much energy and emotion to the images.

A Relaxed Hawaii Elopement with Family

One thing we loved about this wedding was how relaxed the entire morning felt. Since Alexis + Brede planned everything themselves, the day reflected exactly who they are.

There was no rush to move from one event to another. Guests mingled near the beach, their daughter explored the shoreline, and everyone simply enjoyed being together in Hawaii.

Smaller weddings and elopements like this are honestly some of our favorites to photograph because they leave room for real moments to happen naturally.

Instead of spending the entire day managing logistics, Alexis + Brede were actually able to experience their wedding morning together.

Oahu Elopement Photography at Kualoa Regional Park

As an Oahu wedding photographer, Kualoa Regional Park continues to be one of our favorite locations for:

  • Hawaii elopements

  • Intimate weddings

  • Beach ceremonies

  • Family-centered weddings

  • Sunrise and morning wedding photography

  • Scenic engagement sessions

The combination of mountains, ocean, palms, and open space makes it one of the most versatile ceremony locations on the island.

Alexis + Brede’s wedding was the perfect reminder that a beautiful Hawaii wedding does not need to be overly complicated. A meaningful ceremony, your favorite people, incredible scenery, and a relaxed atmosphere are sometimes all you really need.

Congratulations again Alexis + Brede. We are so grateful we got to capture such a beautiful morning for your family.
